Footloose vs. Footloose

New version of Footloose - wtf? The old one is totally awesome so why make a new? Can't see why. But I went to see it anyway - just to play that fun game where you dis everything because it is all wrong and unworthy, like when you see a Harry Potter film and everthing's wrong and bad compared to the brilliant books.
Anyway, I thought it'd be fun to make a comparison of the two - not that there's any doubt about which is the awesomest, but to see just how rotten the new one is.

 Ren Mccormack

Kevin Bacon is hot and cool. He's got the nose! And the moves!

Kenny Wormald - hmm... All right, he's cool and not bad looking, though he's got that sort og High School Musical cheese-ball-look. 

Kevin beats Kenny due to his attitude, outfits and his dance moves. 

Angry Dance

The original angry dance kicks the new one's ass. In the 2011 version it's way too short and it lacks energy. I sucks so much I didn't want to post it here, so instead I give you Bret's (FOTC) version, which is quite good.

  Soundtrack

The soundtrack of the new Footloose is basicly the old one made bad by adding sounds and effects which in my opinion are better suited for Eurovision Song Contests.

Take Ren's first day at school; in the original film he arrives listening to Bang Your Head. In the new version they figured Black and Yellow was appropriate.
Luckily, they've used some of the old ones like Almost Paradise and of course Footloose. The lamest of the lamest is the new version of Holding Out For A Hero, watch this:

Ariel

What a skank! It's not that I particularly love the orginal Ariel, but she is definately a lot better than this new gross one. She's so bad! 

 

Dancing

They've got better dance moves in the old one. The final scene in both films is great and makes you want to dance!

The best scene in the new Footloose is when Ren teaches Willard to dance. This scene is splendid in the real Footloose, but also quite funny in the new one. Unfortunately I can't find this clip on the internet, so you'll get the original instead:

In conclusion Footloose the new sucks compared to the old one, but there are some good parts and it is not as terrible as I had expected.

One day

Last week, I went to the cinema to watch One Day with two of my girlfriends. They'd been talking about it for a couple of weeks, but I didn't want to see it because of Anne Hathaway. I really can't stand her - she's so BLA! Having seen Becoming Jane and the Devil Wears Prada I guess I'd decided to stay clear of her lack of talent.
But, but, but...
I have to admit; she wasn't all bad in this film. She played the part well - so well that I forgot to hate her during the film. But still in my head Anne Hathaway is a sucky actress.
Now, Jim Sturgess. What a snack, eh?

I really think so. The part Dexter, which he played, was very charming and sort of bewitching. He played it very well and he is just so cute.
So now, having done the (perhaps not so)crappy actress (any longer) and the hunk of the film, I'll just tell you to go see this film; Go see this film! It is good!
If you're in a feel good sort of romantic comedy mood, I'll definately recommend this one. This film actually makes you feel like you know Dex and Em and that you're a part of their friendship. The frame story with the same day every year works out very well. This is one of the better film I've seen lately in this genre.

All Over Me

In Amsterdam in my summer holiday, I went to this fantastic little gay/lesbian bookshop. There were all kinds of magazines, books and films. I don't know if we have that sort of thing i Copenhagen, but if we do, I would very much like to go there. Anyway, being the big spender I am, I bought three films, one of which is called All Over Me. It's an American film from 1997 and I like it. It deals with themes such as lesbianism, the annoying and way to popular best friend who you love anyway, homophobia, drugs etc.  The best part is when Claude (Alison Folland) and Lucy (Leisha Hailey) are together. I don't wanna give it all away, but I must admit that it is HOT.
Ever since I watched this film I've been wanting to dye my hair pink like Lucy's. It is so cool! Don't know if I've got the guts to do it, but I can say that I'm not in any way all over Leisha Hailey.

The Air is on Fire

Yesterday I went to see the David Lynch Exhibition "The air is on fire" that my uncle recommended, and I was utterly impressed. It is shown on the Gammel Strand museum in CPH at the moment, and I urge everyone to experience it while it's here. I wasn't really expecting much, I adore Lynch's films but I was unsure about the whole "art"-part, but it was amazing and he's really a very talented drawer! The exhibit includes "Distorted Nudes" which was my favorite part, and also a couple of shorter films that are really fascinating and funny. Also there are weird lynch-y sounds everywhere making the entire experience rather creepy, which is nice.

Fab musical with Cher and Christina Aguilera. So much glitter and awesome costumes and music. It did have a lot of cheasy romatic scenes though.

Flensburg

Last week I was in Flensburg in Germany. I liked the city very much even though it was very cold. There are many beautiful houses and parks, and it's very old.
I also liked their local beer - Flensbuger. I didn't get a very good impression of the night life, but the one night I was at some weird bar, the school had booked. The weirdest thing was that they played danish pop music. I watched Anastacia, Casper the friendly ghost meets Wendy (played by Hillary Duff) and Momento.

Today, I went to the cinema, where I watched Stanley Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange. I have the DVD, but thought it'd be nice to watch in on the big screen. And it was! Very cool indeed! I like the music, the ultraviolence and the wigs the women wear! Real horrorshow!
I'm reading the novel, which is quite a treat once you learn the language.

Nightmare On Elm Street

Nightmare on Elm Street's fucking great, but very creepy and spooky as well. I haven't watched the old version therefore I suck, but I can tell ya that this new one's awesome. I especially like the last scene and the music in the end. Some of the characters are a bit annoying, but they aren't in it a lot - luckily. I have to warn you though; if you watch it with a friend, who's a bit scared, you might end up - like me - with a very sore hand. I hope you can sleep when you've seen it! Enjoy!

Me and you and everyone we know

Me and you and everyone we know is a very weird, but also very lovely and funny film. Miranda July is both director and one of the main characters and she's good. She reminds me a bit of Loren Horsley in Eagle vs Shark . There's a lot of weird, sweet and fun scenes. I liked that the typical romantic story about two strangers, who meet and talk and fall in love in matter of 10 minutes, was stopped halfway, 'cause they don't know each other and it's not realistic is it? Isn't this what would really happen if two people, who'd been flirting for 4 minutes suddenly was in the same car?:

Sorry about being pessimistic, but I just liked that a film for once told the truth. Don't get me wrong I do enjoy a good cheesy and romantic film once in a while, but sometimes you want to watch something more real.

Inception

Went to the cinema last night, where I watched Inception. This film is so fucking cool! Great actors; Leonardo DiCaprio, Ellen Page, Marion Cotillard and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. You have to be concentrated and keep up, this is not a movie you fall asleep to. I don't want to reveal anything, just go and watch it!

Today has been way to warm, especially because I'm in the city. I've watched Footloose, a Danish film called Fede Tider, The Naked Mile and Beta House. Fede Tider was cool and fun. I've watched it when I was younger, but understood more this time. I love Martin Brygmanns naked flute dance.

The Secrets In Their Eyes

Yesterday, I watched The Secret In Their Eyes, which is an Argentinian/Spanish film directed by Juan José Campanella. A woman's been raped and murdered and a police man becomes obsessed with solving the crime. The composition is brillant, and there are a lot of great details in the story and technical details with great effect. It captures the audience and it's neither slow nor boring at any time. I'm not that familiar with Spanish films, but from what I've seen the Spanish cinema brings a certain something-something to the screen. It was clear that the crew of the film is totally professional! I can do nothing but recommend this film!
