Do the D.A.N.C.E!

Last year we took bollywood dance lessons - which was nice. And this year we talked about dancing showdance/jazz, but unfortunately that didn't work out. So yesterday I found this tango course, where you can come and go as you like and it's not that expensive. So this thursday me and my friend Niels will be trying the tango. We tried it at the Kulturnat last year and thought it was fun. The biggest challenge for me is to let the man lead - gender roles are apparently very important in this dance, but I guess it'll be okay.

The wonder that is Juhan's closet, part 3: business looks

This look is a very typical business look combined with the positure and attitude of the models from certain knitting magazines from th 90's.

This look is a bit more serious and androgynous. It says two things at the same time:
1) "Hello, my name is fabolous!"
2) "I'm a hard worker and a good teamplayer."
Don't be afraid to wear this on the job where the outfit will make you feel confident as well as a strong independent woman (who does not need to smoke).

The wonder that is Juhan's closet, part 2: different uses of the red skirt

Juhan is sporting the matching red look. The shirt was originally created on this years Roskilde Festival as a fashionable yet practical way of avoiding the heat and the sweatiness. This look is good for clubbing as well as everyday-life-situations.

This look, worn by our lovely model Andrae, is a classic Beverly Hills inspired look. The shoes are authentically 90's and the shirt is stretchy as well as colorfull. This look is strictly for clubbing!

Cheers!

Jarvgasms and stuff

Well well, these days I spend my time looking for a job, listening to:

Pulp's album "On Fire" - very young Jarvis cocker, kinda joy-division-smiths-ish in comparison to rest of Pulp's music, but it's good, it's really good.

...and reading (actually being read to by BFF Anna):

The 'girls' series by Jacqueline Wilson - lovely!

...and watching:

Beverly Hills 90210 season 1 for what must be the fifth time in my life.

Nightmare On Elm Street

Nightmare on Elm Street's fucking great, but very creepy and spooky as well. I haven't watched the old version therefore I suck, but I can tell ya that this new one's awesome. I especially like the last scene and the music in the end. Some of the characters are a bit annoying, but they aren't in it a lot - luckily. I have to warn you though; if you watch it with a friend, who's a bit scared, you might end up - like me - with a very sore hand. I hope you can sleep when you've seen it! Enjoy!

Hey Hey! Ho Ho! Homophobia's got to go!

Tonight "The Big Gay Musical" is shown on Pride Square in CPH. Although it is raining constantly and intensely I am looking very much forward to watching a film together with all the other lovely, happy people under the open sky. Happy Pride!
By the way this blog is magnificent: Slap Upside The Head

Musicaca

Haven't bought CDs for quite a while now, but today I went CRAZY in my lokal music store. I brought home 4 compact discs! Wow! That's rare, not 'cause I can't afford it, but 'cause I always doubt whether or not I'll listen to it and then I usually just go home. Anyway, I bought some Kylie, Scissor Sisters, Suzanne Vega and The Who. Yeah, quite a mix, I know. Two of 'em are greatest hits, and The Who's a live concert from Leeds.
And here to provide some colour and fabolousness into this post I give you....

Kylieeeeeeeeeeeeh!

What is up with this hat of hair? It's so awesome! I also really like the yellow jacket look and the drag and the - oh, I love it all!

Me and you and everyone we know

Me and you and everyone we know is a very weird, but also very lovely and funny film. Miranda July is both director and one of the main characters and she's good. She reminds me a bit of Loren Horsley in Eagle vs Shark . There's a lot of weird, sweet and fun scenes. I liked that the typical romantic story about two strangers, who meet and talk and fall in love in matter of 10 minutes, was stopped halfway, 'cause they don't know each other and it's not realistic is it? Isn't this what would really happen if two people, who'd been flirting for 4 minutes suddenly was in the same car?:

1: What are you doing in my car?
No, I don't know you, and you certainly
don't know anything about me.
I mean, what if I'm a killer
of children?
2:Yeah. Well, that would put a damper
on things, wouldn't it?
1:See, you're acting like
I'm just this regular man.
Like a man in a book
who the woman in the book meets.
2:I'm not doing that.
Did I just invite myself into your car?
Is that what I just did?
Well, I'm sorry.
Sorry about being pessimistic, but I just liked that a film for once told the truth. Don't get me wrong I do enjoy a good cheesy and romantic film once in a while, but sometimes you want to watch something more real.

I also adore little Robby (2. pic. to the right). He's so brilliant!

"I want to poop back and forth. Like, I'll poop into her
butt hole...
and then she'll poop it back...
into my butt hole.
And then we'll just
keep doing it back and forth...
with the same poop.
Forever."

))<>((

This is poetry to me! Fucking genius!

Inception

Went to the cinema last night, where I watched Inception. This film is so fucking cool! Great actors; Leonardo DiCaprio, Ellen Page, Marion Cotillard and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. You have to be concentrated and keep up, this is not a movie you fall asleep to. I don't want to reveal anything, just go and watch it!

Lizzie McGuire

So, a really big hero of mine is Lizzie McGuire. I used to watch the show when I was younger on Foxkids, but now it's on Ramasjang - one of my favourite channels - and I am obsessed! It's not just that they wear awesome clothes and have great hair styles, they raise really important and interessting issues - haha, yeah but they do! Who wouldn't want to be friends with Miranda, Lizzie and Gordo?
Take a look at this I found the intro in German!

Gordo: Yeah, well, there's lots of weird stuff in this world - tofu bacon, hairless cats, country music.
