O my brothers...

Today, I went to the cinema, where I watched Stanley Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange. I have the DVD, but thought it'd be nice to watch in on the big screen. And it was! Very cool indeed! I like the music, the ultraviolence and the wigs the women wear! Real horrorshow!
I'm reading the novel, which is quite a treat once you learn the language.

Alex: "Oh bliss! Bliss and heaven! Oh, it was gorgeousness and gorgeousity made flesh. It was like a bird of rarest-spun heaven metal or like silvery wine flowing in a spaceship, gravity all nonsense now. As I slooshied, I knew such lovely pictures!"

Arty

I'm not that intellectual these days because of school, work, homework and the bit of social life I have time for. But yesterday I read in my elles@pompidou book. It's in both French and English, which is quite nice because I can try to understand the text in French, but if it's too difficult I just read the English version. There are pictures of the artworks and quotes by the artists about their work and that's about it. I like that - sometimes it can be a bit too much with the author's interpretations of the pieces, the artists' lifestory and so on. Previous post about this book/exhibition.

Also just want to say that the radio's playing Lionel Richie's endless love and I'm so happy about that! (Although this is good too)

Breakthrough

Very short post. I have, finally after quite a few years of failing, completed the Hippogriff challenge in the PC-game "Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban"! Quite a huge moment for me I dare say!
Cheers

Fancy webcamming

I realized that I might use my webcam for taking some pictures, and so I did. This is the result:

My old hands demonstrating the graphic design of certain works in the category 'danish chick litterature' ("Nynnes Dagbog" and "En som mig") What I find quite interesting is the similarity - the whole patterny-colourfull-ness of both the books, and obviously the way the titles are written in different styles and sizes, much like were they cut out of some newspapers. I am currently kinda reading both books and the larger one ("En som mig") is about a girl at the age of 18 whilst the infamous Nynne is about a woman in her late 30's following her until the middle of her 40's. Does this particular way of creating the cover for a book appeal to 'heterosexual' people defined by society as 'female' of ALL ages?? I am wondering...

Drawing by Juhan called "If I had a ham I'd smash patriarchy...I found it"(the Ham red.)
She drew it on our 'Juhan and Andrae's day of fun and feminist artistry'. It's gorgeous, I think.

Take That!

Great great great!!! Robbie and Gary finally made up! Oh, what a bloody miracle! Here's the splendid result: Shame

I know it's old news, but I'm writing about it now because I listen to the song all time at the moment!

Robbie: "We had a hug up and what was left was what we had at the beginning – just five guys that love each other."

Well Well

I barely have time to get neither cultural nor intelletssssschual these days, or maybe I'm just incredibly lazy. So what to write about? what to write about indeed. I am currently in the process of semi-reading a couple of books, two of which I'd like to share some thought on.
1: Physiologie du Gout - a book from 1700-something that reveals the basics of gastronomy and also blabs out a couple of very sexist, very hilarious aforisms, such as "A Dessert without cheese is like a wonderful woman, with one eye missing". It is written in a very solemn and serious tone which makes this 'food-manifest' a very enjoyable and amusing read, especially for fans of gastronomy and/or the mentioning of anything edible.
2: Graphic Storytelling - a guide to creating a coherent, functioning and rythmic graphic storyline (comics red.) by one of my heroes, the brilliant Will Eisner. I own the "New YorK" book which is one of my all time favorite books/graphic novels. This book, graphic storytelling, is an interesting way of experiencing the process of drawing and designing comics and graphic novels, again something that is maybe a bit niche (not to toot my own horn but my gawd what a complex outcast I am indeed) but very comforting on a rainy day.
So there - that was "litterature".
concerning the subject of light entertainment such as cinema and crappy tv-shows I haven't really got the emotional energy to start watching all the fancy Nouvelle Vague and german expressionist films that I probably ought to watch, therefore I continue to watch my old, moldy favorite films such as "Mig og Charlie", "Harold and Maude", "Pretty in Pink" etc. And I am naturally still hooked on The Mighty Boosh.
Ps. God it's lovely to actually have readers!
Cheers people

Ultimate procrastinator!!!!

Sorry about promising pictures of my delicious dinner last night when I didn't take any, but I simply forgot and suddenly all the food was gone.

I'm reading the Iliad and so I just happened to find these beauty hairstyles on google ( I know I suck). Also found this picture:

I honestly can't stop laughing! Fabolous lampshade she's got there!

Which was nice!

Tonight, I am having a couple of friends over for dinner - my first vegan dinner as host! It's going to be fun. I'm making squash stuffed with tomatoes, garlic and onions and couscous. Hope the guests will like it. I'll upload some pictures that'll make you drool! But for now I hope you can settle for this beautiful picture of three guys I love:

And this link to a list of "Top 17 Homo Love Songs"
I personally like quite a lot of the songs/artists.

Dødsyg søndag nananananana

All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, therefore I have made sure that I do something fun whenever I'm done working in the old-people's home that I do now. And what could be more fun and calming than listening to the lovely, yet currently rather inactive, Danish pop band Ibens? Nothing in my opinion. I am the proud owner of their album "17 hits" which incidentally, apart from being filled with amazing, classic Ibens sounds, lovely lyrics etc., also features a couple of the tracks from Carsten Lykke (vocals) own album "selvoptaget". Definitely worth taking the time to listen properly to. To me Ibens means sitting inside when its raining, drinking tea, reading crappy teenage litterature and getting slightly drunk, I love this band and I am in awe of their amazing skills when it comes to creating beautiful yet subtle lyrics describing every-day life.
Listen to it on myspace.

Nobody Passes Perfectly

Today, I've been watching Nobody Passes Perfectly. It's a Danish documentary about gender identity. We follow a Danish transsexual man and a person in a lesbian relationship, who is in the process of transformation. The film expresses a lot of interesting thoughts and ideas on the subject of gender. There are many beautiful and pure scenes and stills. I liked the music, though it was kind of sad. I think I'd like to be in a relationship like the one the two in the last picture have - I'm not thinking of their gender, but of the way they talk to each other and are together.

I've been down this road walking the line that's painted by pride and I have made mistakes in my life that I just can't hide!

This weekend I've been watching a looooot of Ally McBeal. I like her even though she's a bit weird/annoying sometimes. Went to a flea marked yesterday where I bought a big pink jacket, a purse and shoes. Andrae and I went to a party with some of my vegan friends - which was nice! A great weekend!

Ally : Go ahead, get weird on me!
